A Russian visa is an official mark in the form of a stamp or endorsement, which is put in your passport by a Russian Embassy or Consulate official. This gives you permission to enter, pass through, stay in or leave Russia during a certain period of time specified in the visa. A Russian visa lists:
• The traveller’s personal data (Name/surname written in both Russian and Latin characters) To get a Russian Visa, please, stick to the following STEP-BY-STEP VISA OBTAINING GUIDANCE: The Consulate is not responsible for any misprints or errors in the visa which are not brought to its attention before your departure from the country It’s worth keeping in mind • A visa does not guarantee entry to Russia, since that remains the right of the immigration officials of the country concerned. • The cost of the visa depends on the type of visa you need (from around $10 for a short-term, single entry visa to about $200 for a multiple entry business visa) and on your citizenship (a single entry visa for a Georgian person costs about $10, but it is about $200 for an Australian person). Fees and Tariffs are charged according to the bilateral agreements between Russian Federation and your country of origin. • As a rule, if you change your mind and wish to withdraw your visa application, you don’t get your money back - visa fees are paid for consideration of the application and are non-refundable. • A visa issue procedure usually takes 14 days, but for a nominal extra fee, can be arranged in one day. The consulate fee included in your application indicates to the Consulate how quickly you need your Russian visa. • Children who are included in their parent’s passport and who will be travelling with them are included in the same invitation. So the visa can be issued to them together with their parents’ Russian visa using only one invitation. However, children must apply for separate visas, if they have their own passports and, in this case, it is necessary for the child to have a separate invitation for obtaining their own Russian visa. Parents who do not intend to travel with their children must confirm in an affidavit their consent for their children’s travel. • Passengers of cruise ships, as well as some other groups of people, do not require a Russian visa >>>, if they stop in the port of St.Petersburg for no longer than 72 hours.
